Embracing Risk-Friendly Learning: Maximizing the Creative Potential of Your Library Programs

A Workshop Presented by the Center for Childhood Creativity – Bay Area Discovery Museum

Funds are available to support participant travel to and from the workshop.

The Workshop:

Polish up on your program facilitation skills, just in time for summer!

Join us for a half-day workshop on Embracing Risk-Friendly Learning: Maximizing the Creative Potential of Your Library Programs. The Center for Childhood Creativity will share their research-backed framework describing how adults can create intentional experiences that support children’s creative problem solving skills. The workshop will focus on risk-friendly learning: what it means, how to support it in your library, and why it is important for children and youth experiences.
Risk-friendly learning is part of the CREATE Framework, the unique research-backed pedagogical framework developed by the Center for Childhood Creativity at the Bay Area Discovery Museum. Though the CREATE framework illustrates key elements of learning environments and experiences that support the development of creativity for children ages 2 – 10, many of the ideas that will be described in this workshop are also relevant for older children, teens and adults.

Travel Assistance:

Funds are available to reimburse participant travel costs within LSTA guidelines. Please complete the registration form and provide information about your travel costs.

Backfill funds are available to cover desk hours during the hours that library staff are attending this workshop.
