This half-day workshop, lead by Lisa Regalia of the Center for Childhood Creativity, will focus on how to provide exploratory learning opportunities in your library programs using the Center for Childhood Creativity’s CREATE framework.
- Learn how subtle shifts in language, materials, and room set-up can make a BIG difference in the creative potential of your library programs.
- Explore the research behind the CREATE framework to discover why the environment you set up matters for children’s learning.
- Roll up your sleeves and dive into activities that showcase the suite of strategies available to create hands-on, open-ended experiences.
- Take what you learn and apply it to activities you plan to use this summer!
This workshop has been designed for library staff working with children from birth to 10 years of age, though the techniques covered can easily be adapted and used when working with other age groups.
